We decided to stay at the Clarion Hotel and Casino on Convention Center Drive as a money saving alternative to staying on the strip. The room cost us $134 for the night and we quickly realized we should have spent a little extra and stayed ANYWHERE else. The hotel itself looked dirty and completely uncared for as did the lobby, casino, and hallways within. We were given a room on the first floor right next to an exit; we later found that the exit was never locked from the outside and there were no cameras. We noticed that the room doors didn't close properly, as light could be seen from the inside.
Our room was disgustingly dirty. The carpets were terribly stained and filthy, almost as nasty as was the upholstered chair which obviously had some explicit stains on it. The mattress had a very noticeable indent that made it difficult to sleep and put a gross image in our heads of the activities that have gone on in that bed. While sleeping, the fitted sheet pulled up exposing a very yellowed and deeply stained mattress from a combination of blood and vomit. Gross. There were red stains on the ceiling and grime all over the walls. The curtains were dirty and smelly. The shower and toilet backed up.
Overall, we have stayed in numerous budget hotels, and at much cheaper prices, and I can assure you we have never been as grossed out as we were staying here. We complained to ourselves throughout the night and realized the next morning that we were probably better off sleeping in our car.
