| - Patterson's farm is where you go to pick apples in the fall, then get some pumpkins, some pies, and some apple cider.
The apple cider's the spice, here, man. You can - and should - get yourself an apple cider slushie, which is made with just the right amount of ice for sweetness. (They've recently started making grape juice slushies, and apple-and-grape-juice slushies, if that's your gig.)
And if you have kids, well, they love it - it's about the right amount of activity, takes about a half an hour of walking an exploring, and then they get fresh-made donuts at the end of a tractor ride.
You do, however, want to be sure to go pick apples early in the season... Well before the end of October. Too late, and you wind up walking out to the ass-end of Ohio to pick some scraggly-looking apples - though if that happens, do what I do: I pretend that I'm the survivor of a war, searching desperately for sustenance upon the blighted apple trees that have survived this nuclear winter.
It's surprisingly fun. Trust me.
