Please do not buy this warranty for yourself. Don't buy it for potential buyers if you're selling your home. Don't bundle it in a closing package if you are a realtor. I negotiate with insurance companies as an integral part of my work. HSA is the worst insurance company with whom I've ever dealt.
Terrible, terrible claim processing. Reported a leak from our furnace blower (which dehumidifies as well, hence water) and/or hot water heater (my money was on both) on a Friday. No technician until the next Wednesday. Technician can't fully fix issues (which is not HSA's fault). New technician comes on Friday (now leaking a full week), documents the issues and says repairs cannot be made until HSA authorizes (agrees to pay) for them.
It's now the following Monday. Our basement wall has, in the meantime, been ruined by water despite our best efforts to control the leak. Each time I call HSA, I get put on protracted hold. I'm on hold right now, for the 44th minute and counting.
They are a typical warranty scam; collect your premium, make the claims process as difficult as humanly possible, hoping that you'll go away or fix it yourself. We'll probably have to do that to avoid catastrophic damage to our home.
If we aren't made whole soon, I'll being to research my insurance bad faith options.
