I decided I needed a change from box dying my hair black for years so I Yelped somewhere with good reviews because I knew it was going to be a long journey and it was important that my hair didn't fry in the process. The reason this review has 2 stars vs. 1 star is because the first girl I talked to (Mylisa) was extremely helpful. She took the time to evaluate my needs and even did a test strip on my hair. She was pretty booked up so I ended up with another girl, Natalie. I received a text at 4am the day of my appointment saying she wouldn't be able to make it because of an emergency with a friend so had to reschedule for the following week. I wish she had offered to if anyone else could take me that morning. The following week we went over what I wanted which was kind of a balayage/chunky highlight look with high contrast. She did spend considerable time on my hair which I appreciate, but instead of a balayage or a chunky highlight, I had a few random strands of my natural dark hair. I told her on my next visit I wanted to throw in more dark low lights because I wanted the contrasting look we discussed. She ended up being a no-show at my next appointment. After 30 minutes of waiting they tried calling her but never heard anything so after 45 minutes I left. The salon offered to reschedule me but I didn't want to work with Natalie anymore, and Mylisa was booked out a few months, so I declined. Mylisa did end up reaching out to me and offered to rearrange her schedule to fit me in which I really appreciated (again, the only reason for the second star) but by then I had already booked an appointment at another salon. I never even got an apology call or text from Natalie.
As far as the salon goes, it's pretty cute and they have a coffee bar which is fun. Good vibe. But I'm a stickler for customer service and I was beyond disappointed in the turn of events here.
