  • We were looking for a last minute hotel to stay in for a relatively cheap price that was on the strip. At the time of booking, there were two hotels that were the cheapest and on the strip. The Flamingo and the Excalibur... We stayed at the Excalibur about ten years ago and liked it, but it was towards the end of the strip so we decided to pay the extra $20 and stay at the Flamingo since it was pretty much in the middle of the strip. Parking: I read on the website that parking was free and located behind the hotel. When we got there, the valet was full so I went to the taxi stand and dropped my family off there. The parking garage is about 7 stories high, with the first three stories reserved for valet parking only. Let me say this, it took me about 45 minutes to find a parking spot on a Saturday night around 7pm. I believe they share parking with their other network hotels, and they don't really verify who parks there, so pretty much anybody can park in there. The rest of the days it wasn't as bad, but the garage is still packed. Check-in: Check in was quick and easy. There was no line and it probably only took about five minutes to check in. Room: The room we had faced the interior of the hotel, so there really wasn't a view. To be honest, we really didn't care as we weren't going to spend much time there. For four of us, the room was enough for us, the two queen beds were very comfortable and the pillows were great. The bathroom was outdated and showing age, it was also very small. They only offered one bar of soap and two bottles of lotion, nothing else. We ended up going to CVS and buying small travel kits. Food: We were on a budget for this trip and planned on trying to eat cheap. The hotel didn't really have cheap food options, which was a bummer. The other hotels within close walking distance didn't either, but that's okay. We did eat at the hotel one night and the food was pretty good, but came out to about $15/person. Location: The location is great for the price, literally in the middle of the strip, can't say much more than that. Check-out: Check out was a breeze. Again, there was no line, we just walked up, returned the key and gave the room number. Additional: There is no free wifi at the hotel, the prices are as follows: $9.99 /2 hours $13.99 /24 hour for only guest room $24.99 /24 hour entire hotel.
