  • I was soooo excited about trying the southern food of new south!!! I ordered pork loin, which is what I love to order when I eat soul food......annnnd I was not cooked properly. When it has not been fully cooked it makes the meat tough and hard to eat. I was disappointed. I had such high expectations for this place. My husband ordered shrimp and grits which turned out nice. Tastes good......but we most likely will not return. I think that for upscale southern food....Mert's is still the reining champs. If you want a relaxed meal in a normal environment try LaWans on south tryon. They throw down in there!!!
