| - Cefellini opened yesterday, so this is a very early review based on limited experience and should be taken as such!
That said, those of you familiar with the old Café Volâne with the mismatched interior, almost-residential kitchen set up--well, forget all about that.
Cafellini has remodelled this teeny spot--inside and out--to a modern day coffee spot with everything you'd expect from a new café in a budding neighbourhood: clean, slick, minimalist design, some eiffel chairs, and a long communal table (don't worry, there are a few other 2-person tables as well). The most colourful thing in here is their coffee bags, which are quite lovely if I do say so myself.
My coffee was flavourful and bold, but not bitter at all. I tried one of their savoury scones (bacon and cheese) and it was also pretty good.
In terms of food, there were few options: scones, cookies and yoghurt parfaits, so from what I can tell, the lunch offerings from the old place are a thing of the past. No doubt we will see some adjustments to the menu in the coming weeks, or maybe not.
Conveniently located across from Beaubien Metro, I recommend you grab your coffee here if you're headed underground or are passing by.
