  • Prologue: My fiancee and I had tickets for a show at Planet Hollywood and wanted to find a fantastic restaurant to have dinner before the show. The Plot: We began by sharing the Goat Cheese Prosciutto Rolls, followed with a 12oz Filet Mignon along with Crisp Goose Fat Potatoes and Sautéed Wild Mushrooms. This sumptuous meal was concluded with their signature 24-Layer Chocolate Cake. The Scene: The portion sizes were very good and there was plenty of food for the both of us. You know the meal you're about to enjoy is off to a great start when the basket that first arrives at your table is filled with a variety of hot rolls that are even better than anything you've purchased at an artisan bakery. The Prosciutto Rolls were stuffed with Calabrian-Infused Goat Cheese, Wild Arugula, Frisée, and Shaved Parmesan and were served with a Twelve-Year Aged Balsamic Glaze. To begin with, the exceptional quality of the prosciutto was immediately apparent. The spice from the Calabrian Chile was well balanced with the chilled goat cheese and greens yet still delivered enough heat to excite our taste buds. My fiancee commented that she would have been satisfied with just this dish alone for dinner. The Filet Mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare (see photographic evidence below) and had been allowed to rest appropriately prior to arriving at our table. The steak also had a nice crust on it with classic seasoning. My fiancee appreciated how it was moist, tender, and pink in the middle but not at all bloody. The Potato Croquette had great texture; firm yet tender and perfectly seasoned on the inside with a lovely and very yummy crispy crust on the outside. This was a much nicer compliment to our steak than a baked potato would have been. Personally I enjoyed the Sauteed Wild Mushrooms most of all. The portion size was very generous and the variety, texture, and flavor of the mushrooms was absolutely outstanding; perhaps the best I've ever had. Twenty-four alternating layers of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse topped with ganache comprised their signature dessert. One could not help appreciating the time and effort that went into creating this dessert. The piece we were served was monstrous and was easily enough chocolate bliss for 3 or 4 people. The Rest of the Story: The serivice was excellent, of course. We arrived early in the evening, were seated at one of the best tables in the house, and were cared for very well. The ambiance and decor were classic steak house crossed with Sin City. The tab for the meal was very reasonable for fine dining at this level in this location. Epilogue: We happily award 4 stars for our most satisfying and memorable dinner in Las Vegas to date. Photo Design: by Billie Z.
