  • Creamistry was built for an audience that doesn't include me. I get it. I'm not a child nor am I an adult with a child's palate like my boyfriend who still thoroughly enjoys colorful cereal, sour patch kids, and chicken McNuggets. But I do get the concept, which i think is really rooted in the customizeable cereal/candy flavored ice cream gimmick, and if it was done well I would happily accompany any children/children-like adults here and enjoy my traditional chocolate ice cream in content. The thing is - it's not done well. For one thing - the chemistry theatrics isn't worth the time. You see the liquid nitrogen once, you've seen it, and at that point it's just irritating that you are in a restaurant full of people and everyone's ice cream still needs to be MADE. Add to that the fact that they have like 4 machines and two employees working them and you start to realize this operation wasn't really set up with logistics in mind. I honestly didn't taste anything different about my "fresh" ice cream but my boyfriend did really like the flavor of his fruity pebbles flavored ice cream so I can see that being a differentiator. However the other differentiator that outweighs that one is the price. Our bill was something like $22 for 2 regulars because their toppings are A DOLLAR PER. We're talking nuts and sauce here people, not truffles. It would be one thing if one CAME with your regular but none do, not even a tablespoon of cereal (which, BTW, is clearly their biggest profit center. It's like the whole restaurant was designed around the idea of marking milk and cereal up 10000x and calling it science). All in all my Sundae wasn't offensive (in taste, at least) but I did pay $10 for it and then have to wait 30 minutes, both of which I would gladly have back & forget the whole thing ever happened, even the liquid nitrogen.
