Today was my last trip to the Bagel Factory. I have regretfully been having breakfast at this place for around 6 years. The only reason going is that is less than a block from my house and there is no alternative as close. I go once or twice a week roughly, but never again.
This morning I ordered a bagel and some juice. Went to sit down in a chair and as I was sitting down and sliding the chair in, the wooden seat part was apparently unattached, my left index slid underneath it, and when I sat back down smashed the bejesus out of my finger. My left index finger nail is currently the color of a concord grape.
The owner- who was right around the corner asked me if I hurt myself on the chair, he had no view of me, but knew exactly how I smashed my finger and knew the chair was crap.
But then again he knows everything is crap in his store. It's all crap. Do you like egg & bacon bagel sandwiches? They'll cook the egg and bacon in their crap microwave for you. Tastes like crap but whatever, they serve it. If you would like a bagel with butter and jelly, they will happily toast your bagel and open up some butter and jelly PACKETS to apply to your bagel. Just like the butter and jelly packets sitting in the booth at Denny's.
The owner will literally ignore you while you stand at the register and try to pay. He talks on the phone constantly and you just stand there feeling like an imbecile. But don't feel this way. I am here to affirm that you are not an imbecile! The fellow who runs this crap store may be one.
It's cheap, low-grade, and the place occasionally has weird smells that can't be attributed to anything edible. Save yourself the trouble.
