  • My experience with Electric Haven has been a total mixed bag (the only reason I gave 2 instead of a single star). First thing to note: when asked, I specified that I wanted a high and tight fade with a hard part, leave some length on top. Simple, generic, pretty common for most barbers. First cut: Spot on. Awesome. Very happy. Exactly what I wanted. Etc. Second cut (same guy as the first cut): same thing, good to go. Third cut (different guy): Asked me what we were doing today, I told him just looking for a trim (was $10 the first time I got one with a much different hair style a few months ago, quick, easy). He proceeds to give a complete "hair cut". If I knew he was going to give me a full cut I would have told him what I specified the previous 2 times. So I walked out without a fade (just even length) and even though if you took a half a second to see that I had a hard part previously, he leaves it as is. Not very happy after this but less than pissed because I "know" there're others there that are good and it's fixable in the short term. Round 4: I don't know what happened but this is the anvil that broke the camel's back. Same guy as 1 and 2. Told him the same thing as before along with specifying (H&T fade, hard part). He 1 guards me all around, next to zero fade. Hard part isn't even all the way through (not sure you can even call it a hard part since there's no length to speak of on one side of it. It's pretty much a line in my head). Took me shorter than normal in the top back. When he gave me the mirror when he was done I knew there was zero that could be done to fix it other than father time it so I just bit my tongue. If I didn't know any better it was along the lines of a practical joke or he just didn't want me back as a customer. Either way, what's done is done. Paid, with tip (I tip well, always). Not sure what's going on with this place but I'm not going to roll the dice and hope I don't crap out again. There are other options. It's a shame too because it's a decent shop. They play good music and the place is decorated right. The staff in general just doesn't seem overly stoked to be there at all. That along with the uncertainty of the outcome I can't see myself darkening their door again.
