  • I used to like to take a look at things in this store after eating at PF Chang's in the same lot. The quality of most merchandise here is better than average and of course their prices are high to justify the quality. Unfortunately, due to a management team with no empathy, and a crappy return policy, I'll never set food in this place again. I'll take my business to Sur la Table which I always have a positive shopping experience. Back in September, I purchased a Philips rice cooker for my in-laws. This cooker was going to be a holiday gift for them. The purchase experience was fine. Unfortunately, the machine never worked from out of the box. My wife brought the machine over to her parents house, tried it and determined that the machine didn't work. Because of our busy work schedule, my wife didn't get around to telling me that it didn't work until mid-January. I asked my wife to go into the store and see what they can do. My wife said that she went into the store a few days later and was told that there is a 30 day return policy. I finally had some time and contacted Philips on February 14. Philips gladly agreed to send me a new unit, however all they need is a copy of the receipt showing the date of purchase. Unfortunately, the date of purchase was cut off on the receipt and illegible. Philips checked the serial number of the unit and the date it was manufactured was back in 2014 so they reiterated to me that they need a copy of the receipt. I knew the date of purchase because I had logged it on my computer. I went to Williams-Sonoma myself and asked the manager if they have a way to retrieve a copy of the receipt. The manager showed no empathy and said, "Nope! Call Philips. Maybe they can help." I told her that I just spoke with them and they will replace the unit but all they need is something showing the date of purchase. The manager explained to me that they have a 30 day return policy and that they cannot retrieve old receipts. You mean to tell me that 5 months after purchase you cannot pull a receipt. If there was an audit or a subpoena, I can guarantee that they can get a copy of the original transaction . I really don't like the way the store handled the situation. I was not trying to return the product to them, I simply needed assistance in obtaining proof of purchase. I really hope that someone in corporate takes a look a this. Feel free to contact me for more information.
