| - So, this is a tough one. We have two dog children and consistently good grooming is a difficult thing to find in this town. My girlfriend dropped the pups off at the shop around 11:30 am. After running errands and doing typical Monday things until about 3:00, I came home to discover no dogs. The girl who answered my call at the store said expect a phone call around 3:30 or 4:00 to let me know the kids were finished and ready to be picked up. 4:45 comes and still no phone call. Their yelp site says the store closes at 5:00 and we live fairly close by, so I made my way to the shop. The store front is a bit off putting, tacky neon mural on their wall of a woman in a hair salon with a cigarette and a doggie in the chair next to her. But, essentially, not a big deal when it comes down to it, I'm just snobby with art. The smell also was something that immediately got my attention. I know dog salons have a lot of human and animal traffic and due to the nature of the business, sometimes it's going to smell like wet dog. But this was intense. After bringing out the first dog child, one of the employees tells me a few more minutes for our other. After another five minute wait, still not a big deal, another woman brings out last pup out from the back and tells me there was a knick on his nose from the hair cut. Still, at this point, not a big deal. Dogs in car, I head home. Immediately after walking in my front door, the boy begins his normal post walk/food/haircut/whatever celebratory dance and face smear on whatever he can find. Then the blood starts. After stopping his bleeding and inspecting the wound, it looked as if some sort of glue had been applied to stop the blood. This is probably typical procedure, but specific information provided by the groomers pertaining to the dog boys injury would have been appreciated. Pretty clean slice, I know things happen, but after my girlfriend called the shop and received less than adequate information and empathy from the person on the other line, I can guarantee we won't be back any time soon. Also, we found a decent chunk out of a little dog wart on our girl. I'm thinking the delay in picking up the pups was due to the boys cut on his nose and an attempt on the shop employees to cover it up a bit. I wouldn't be as irritated if things had been communicated in a prompt fashion at the time things happened. Haircuts were decent, 3/5. Service and dog injuries, 1/5. Get your dogs groomed somewhere that's not this place. I wouldn't feel safe leaving the kids here again.
