Location/Service:
This Chatime is located in the back corner of a plaza so it was kind of hard get into. I went in on a weekday evening at 6pm and there were maybe 4 customers there. For the duration of my stay, I noticed that a lot of people do take-out instead of sit-in. After all, the seats weren't too comfortable, so I wouldn't sit there for a long time.
Drinks:
The taro milk black tea is my go-to drink every time I go to a relatively new BBT place. Since I rarely go to Chatime, I asked the girl at the cashier what she recommended or what Chatime's signature drinks were. She suggested the taro milk tea because it is made of fresh taro powder. It sounded kind of weird when I heard. In fact, it is quite the oxymoron because how can powder be fresh? I had to try it myself. I made it extra hot with 0% sugar and it turned out that the drink had a chunky texture and it was a little thick! There were definitely some sort of taro texture/taste in there but definitely not the real taro that you find in the supermarket. I found this quite interesting and not like other BBT places where they make it using pure artificial powder! I would definitely order this drink again, but next time I would probably ask for 30% sugar because it tasted quite raw.
