I almost just want to let the picture speak for itself. The gluten-free bread was so hard it only covered about half of the burger. The bread tasted like it was pulled out of the freezer and then microwaved before assembling my soul burger (probably what actually happened because it was so extremely hard.) It was absolutely ridiculous and I really just had to laugh at the whole thing. How in the world could somebody have the heart to serve something of poor quality and so disproportionate? The right thing to have done was to just say that the gluten-free bread wasn't available. Anyway, I'm glad I saved 200 calories. :)
The soul burger was obviously made from scratch with blackeyed peas, yams, and collard greens. While creative, it was on the dry side, had a smear of what looked liked VeganMayo, and had no condiments in the bag or offered to me. It also was playing hide and seek with me underneath all of the lettuce that was piled on top. Lol
I only came here because it was a Tuesday, I was hungry and on the road, and Bean is not open. Anyway based on this experience I definitely would say do not come here if you are gluten intolerant because of the poor quality of the bread. For everybody else, just don't expect to be wowed.
