The donuts are really, really good and the cakes are amazingly good. The buttercream isn't overly/fake sweet and the cake actually has some flavor unlike most grocery store cakes. Same with the cream they use in their filled donuts - yum!
Fosdal's is an old school bakery, and the food outweighs the discomfort of the physical space, but every time I'm there I find myself wishing they would do a little bit to fix their ambiance. The whole set up of the front room just feels disjointed. The space is weird, the tables are wobbly and usually sticky, and the front entrance is dangerously sloped.
It's an in and out kind of place, too busy and too poorly laid out to linger more than five minutes. Good thing the donuts are so good they go down quickly!
