This is one of the nicest libraries I've been to anywhere in the world, and that includes great locations like the New York public library that takes up a whole city block Manhattan. The day after we moved to Calgary, my first job of the day was to walk over to memorial park to get my Calgary library card. This building is stunning. Three levels, over 100 years old, it was the first library in the province and it was donated by a wealthy local family. Did you know this is the only Library in the province that loans out musical instruments, they will let you borrow guitars and cellos and violins and mandolins and banjosAnd ukuleles and all the books that will teach you how to play these instruments for free. Spectacular. And great staff. Plus they let me use their laptops for free and the printer as well. Very above and beyond great customer service. And lovely acoustics in the building.
