I'm really dissapointed at this place . When this place first change to an adoption center to rescues I was so thrilled and excited to see they rescued. We always visit the puppies and my kids love seeing these rescues. I have family and friend that come here to find a Resues and I have always came here first if I intended to add on a four legged friend ....
Today however, we were very angry had disappointed. My daughter and her cousin saw a pup we wanted to meet and play with . My daughter and her cousin went and ask the ladies at the counter if she could play with the puppy. It was around 8:15pm. My daughter came back and said "mom that lady said we can't see the pup unless we have intentions to buy "... confused I thought perhaps my daughter heard wrong or misunderstood .
I walk over to the counter where these two ladies were turn towards each other chatting. I politely said "excuse me , we wanted to see that pup but my daughter said you guys said no?" .... the lady responded " yes, you can't see the puppy unless you have intentions to buy " then turned around to chat with the other lady behind the counter.
I looked at her thought, how rude for her to assume we didn't have intentions to do so in the first place. Did she always ask all her customers In this manner ? Did we look like we can't adopt or can't afford to adopt based on our age, sex or nationality . She didn't ask further question to hear our out intentions at all ... she didn't care and just assumed we weren't. I'm totally confused. I know people come in merely for visiting purposeses but has people been refused to see a pup (that was obviously available ) before? Isn't letting the pups play with people humanely good for the puppy itself for socialization and to get it out of the crate for a bit is a good thing ? But most importantly what makes her think we had no intentions?
I nicely questioned her again , most people at the very Least need to see and play with the puppy, then fall in love and end up adopting. Or will at the very least consider adopting base on just that encounter, but how do you assume we don't have intentions .
She quickly said "well we dont do adoptions after 8pm anyways ".... really ? "anyways " was her only explanation at the rude assumption ? Then why didn't she just say tell us in the first place we don't adopt our after 8pm so we don't show the dogs this late to be professional and polite to begin with. To assume and talk to the children and me this way was absolutely ridiculous. Even a gentleman who was nearby shock his head in disbelief of what he heard over our conversation ....
Very dissapointed . Our kindhearted little girls were disappointed, poor puppy minus will be as well. The puppy could have been potentially adopted out, even if we couldn't do paperworks that night we could have came back in the morning . Or we could have spread words about the puppy to our friends and family ... promoted her or whatever. Sadly these two ladies were too busy talking to care . They simply felt I didn't look "potential buyer / adopter" enough to even show me the dog .
I still would recommended this place because it is a Resue and all these poor puppies deserves a good home . I highly recommended that The staff needs to be retrain to not discriminated potential buyer/ rescuers ! It's hurtful and rude but at the end the animals suffer because they were denied a chance to be adopted out because of these ppl who were too lazy and busy chatting to show a dog.
