| - I dropped off the enrollment folder and health statement of my 10 month old son on the 30th September, expecting to start on October 3rd. October 2nd my son had a fever and took him to his primary doc on the 3 rd. The doc saw some spot on hand and feet and diagnosed him as hand foot mouth disease, it sounds terrible but it actually not in the case on my son. October 3rd, my son had like a red rash on legs and cheeks that faded away on October 4th, no blisters no itchiness. On October 6th, I called and the director assistant Emily answered the phone, so I was telling her the story why I did not take my son in on October 3rd, then she said that I need a doc not to clear my son, I said ok, I called my doc and a clearance note was faxed. On October 7th, I called Emily if a fax was received, she said yes but the note should state the time frame the my son should be out and back in, I said the doc note will be attached to this review, but my son has never attended the school in the first place and the not stated that he should be excused from day care on the 3rd and he is clear from any symptoms. I am an RN and I would not take my son if he is still in contagious phase and I would not risk the health of other little ones. After a few phone calls, I got to the conclusion that this place does not care, no customer service and Emily and her robotic response: this is the policy..I stopped by on October 7th, I had my son with me, I showed Emily that his skin is clear and and doc note stated he is excused for the 3rd...I I could give this place a 0 star I would, they don't know what their are doing and they are not proactive to solve the situation. Everything happens for a reason, I found a better place, lose to my house, cheaper, they provide crib sheet which they launder at they end of the day, provide table food prepared in their kitchen. Honestly speaking, I was NOT impressed by la petite academy, space for infants and toddlers was small and it did not look too clean, 140$ for 2 days, asking for crib sheets, still I was reluctantly willing to take my son there cause I know I needed only 6 hrs a day and it was very close to my house. A piece of advice to moms considering la petite academy, be aware what kind of service you are buying and committing to.
