| - I saw Dr. Ryklin 5-6 yrs ago after failed spinal fusion. He was great - every appointment was with him for nerve testing, etc. But after a long break, I started back with him about 4 months ago. I have a whole different outlook now. NOT HAPPY. Because of my past experience I wanted to come back - after coming back after 5-6 yrs later, I am ready to leave. I started with my 1st appt seeing Dr. Ryklin, well it was supposed to be! Not happy! But in pops his PA (can't remember his name, started with a J I think) with an excuse that Dr. R was so busy. Anyway, he assessed my issue and went and talked to Dr. Ryklin - and said to have an mri and came back after I have the MRI. When scheduling that appt they wanted to put me with someone else other than the doctor and were strange acting when I insisted I wanted Dr. R to review my MRI. For that appt a gal started with nerve testing. Dr. R comes in after that and acted distracted and unconcerned when reviewing my mri. Definitely not the doctor I remembered. He suggested 3 epidurals. I don't take pain meds due to side effects unless pain is relentless. Maybe because he won't get the bonus of writing pain med script put him off a bit??? I also told him I have cervical stenosis diagnosed 8 yrs earlier that I was having issues with as well. He wanted to work on lumbar and we would work on cervical later. So after doing 3 epidurals in 3 wks I was struggling with months of terrible body aches/pains. My follow up to epidurals was with Lisa (I think is her name). She suggested physical therapy. I have a lot of health issues going on also with those doctor appts and I know how time consuming PT is. After a week of still deciding I get this phone call that they called in an MRI for my neck. Never set up a followup appt. So a week after mri I realized I had no appt for MRI results and I call to set one up. I honestly have no clue who it is scheduled with (next wk). I will be furious if it is with anyone other than Dr. R. It took me a 5 wks to get in for that. I also have complained to them about shoulder pain. I started PT 3 appts ago and they have sent my shoulder into horrible pain. (that will be another review to do). It didn't hurt so much during appt, but after the fact the pain was severe. I tried getting into an earlier appt 3wks ago with "anyone" at Dr. R's place due to my shoulder pain which is so bad right now. The office couldn't get me in due to being booked. Didn't even pass me on to be assessed for emergency appt. I have to say that I hate not seeing the same doctor for my pain and being shuffled around amongst the staff. I am concerned about the reading of my neck mri due to severe shoulder pain and will be insisting that they refer me to an orthopedist to determine my course of action, then the pain doc can. When I had my epidurals (sorry I know I am all over the place here) I have to agree with another poster. They herd you in and out like cattle. The place is so busy and it is lacking good doctoring or concern, etc... high anxiety! I honestly need to find a new pain doctor. I had another pain doctor pre Dr. R and his office was peaceful and none rushed. I am going to have to see if he takes my insurance. I honestly don't even trust Dr. R to read my mri. He will line his pockets with "oh you need epidural". I have severe shoulder pain due to my neck issues and I can't even get in for an emergency appt. I don't take pain meds so ER isn't going to help. I need quick action, massage, soft tissue or something... I'm in tears. I can't move my arm due to shoulder pain being so bad. I furious!
