| - One of those Love Hate relationships.
I used to come here three times a week for groceries while I was losing weight.
I love the staff, out of the 8 years I've gone here they have always been super nice and polite but only one or two people have worked there that long. I've seen many people come and go even in a few month period let alone the hundred from the last 8 years.
The owners. Eh... The one has been my unfriendly cashier many times and the other one usually would over give a glaring look from there office.
Over the years i have dealt with many expiration date issues, the under cooked pumpkin bread incident and black boned chicken.
One time i went to the cereal rack and all the Mother Brand cereal was expired by three months. That comprised of an eight foot wide rake with cereal from the ground to above your head.
Same with many other items on the shelves. It doesn't seem like anyone goes through the shelves regularly to check expiration dates.
I've always had a problem with them carrying products that contained MSG, lesser forms of MSG, HFCS, hydrogenated oil and trans fat. This is supposed to be an organic and natural market that campaigns against these ingredients.
I've never liked any of the premade food behind the case. I've tried it numerous times thinking it might get better but it only got worse. I would see the same premade food in the case for weeks before they would finally get rid of it.
The yogurt and dairy section always has whole shelves being expired.
The mold in the produce section is a joke. They repackage the fruit over and over again so when you buy raspberries you are getting the best few berries out of a dozen boxes of moldy fruit then on top of that the fruit is never remeasured. So "8oz" of berries is closer to 4oz to 6oz.
I always had a problem with getting cases of rice milk. For some reason they couldn't order more for me. I was buying 6 or more cases at a time, buying there whole inventory out every time they got more in.
There are a few other things that were awesome that they got rid of.
100 calorie Fiber Brownies (I would buy them all out too)
Fresh par cooked beans in the produce section. They were the best but they would keep them on the shelf with viable mold on it for weeks.
Good Bread, They used to have this awesome no HFCS bread for the longest time, i would get it twice a week. Then they switched to this awful brand that the bread falls apart. Then i noticed the new bread is supossed to be frozen at all times. So after a week or more they put the bread in front of the deli counter into the fridge.
I could go on and on about the horrors of mold of all kinds and colors, I could go on about expiration dates and what employes have told me over the years.
I leave it to you. Everything I've said I've seen personally.
Go at you own risk. Check everything single thing like your scavenging during a zombie Apocalypse.
Don't get suckered in to coming back like me, just to see the nice employes, minus the owners.
