  • I come to Whole Foods (has anyone cracked the "Whole Paycheck" joke yet?) on occasion and I am still not sure how to rate it. The parking can be an absolute nightmare with unusually aggressive drivers whipping around the underground parking or surface lot. Seriously - chill people! If you are shopping here I assume you are or are attempting to be healthy. Would a few extra steps kill you? People go after these spots like the bread supplies just before the snow. The interior of the store itself is gorgeous, completely clean and logically laid out. It gives you the feel of a market rather than a store which is a fun environment to shop in. All of their produce and meat is fresh and locally sourced when possible. However, you do pay quite substantially for this. They do have some delicious food and I am a huge fan of their premade pizzas and premade salads. They have premade hamburger patties as well that are stuffed with several options which are the best stuffed burgers I have ever purchased. They recently stopped making my favorite cake which was half chocolate and half cheesecake. I was not impressed with their steak. They occasionally have bundle deals which are misrepresented which can make for a frustrating shopping experience. Over Memorial Day weekend we grabbed their $20 bundle which had pasta salad, a fruit tart and chicken. All these items were in the same cooler under the bundle advertisement, but some packs of chicken were seasoned and some were not. They looked exactly the same but when we got to the register we were told the season chicken we grabbed wasn't part of the deal and the issue took about 15 minutes to sort out because even the woman behind us in line told the cashier that she thought the seasoned chicken was part of the deal. I vaguely remember going through something similar the year before with a different bundle deal. I have also been to their cooking class once which was a blast with delicious food and plenty of wine. However, I would have liked more actual hands on experience for $75 but the class was too large for that. I would give them a 3.5 but since they do carry a large variety of organic items (so many Amy's frozen meal options!) and some harder to find spices and international foods I will round up.
