| - The first time I went to this Starbucks I ordered a vanilla steamer. The girl seemed very nervous and frazzled and she looked at me like I had three heads. I proceeded to explain to her the contents of the beverage, milk and vanilla syrup. She then charged me for a latte which is more expensive, so I told her that it's usually cheaper, then she looked annoyed and then confused, then she figured out which button to push to charge me less. Then, (against my better judgment), I asked her for a large cup of ice water, to which she replied she was only allowed to give water in the small cup. I offered to pay for the larger cup, she looked at the register screen for a moment, then quickly decided it was easier to just give me the cup. My beverages were delivered and out the door I went. Bad experience, but I figured I'd give it another try.
I went in today, had a different barista, and although this one wasn't confused, she seemed very tired and overworked and couldn't stop what she was doing to make eye contact or even smile. I kinda felt bad for her!
What REALLY did it for me was that while I was waiting in line today I saw a bug in the display buzzing from piece of bread to piece of beead. It was gross and it really did it for me. It's no fun going to Starbucks if you're just not happy with the entire experience of starbucks. You'll get your drink made, but don't expect much in the arenas of cleanliness and customer service.
