| - A group of 10 went yesterday for Shipwrecked (I got the Groupon deal, which made this even better). None of us have done an escape room game before, so we didn't know what to expect. The place was still under construction, and when we got there we didn't see anyone for about 10 minutes. Suggestion: put a sign upfront if the only employee is occupied with another game so the new group doesn't think we missed anything/anyone. Leave a note to the group leader (since everything is booked ahead of time) will be a nice touch and goes along the clue finding theme. Once we saw Brad (the "host") and he gave us a run-down of the game, everything went smoothly.
Like another reviewer said before, we burnt a lot of time in the first room when the 1st major clue was smack in front of us. Once we moved further into the game, without plan we broke up into smaller groups and worked on different clues at the same time - which helped us caught up some of the lost time and a great use of 10 people. It was a lot of fun, 60 minutes blew by, we got to the sword (it's in the game description so no spoiler info here), but didn't complete the task. The host said we were about 85% done, I think he was being generous, I think we probably will burn at least another 15-20 minutes to finish the task. The set was well done, and I think it was overall more difficult than some of my friends have expected.
Definitely a fun way to spend an hour with a group of friends!
