| - How does this sound?
"Jumbo shrimp and boneless breast of chicken in a lobster broth. A touch of unsweetened chocolate, crushed almonds and hazelnuts give this Catalonian dish a unique & unforgettable flavor. Served with white rice. - Gambas y Pollo"
I can't speak to it's Catalonian authenticity but its flavor is gob-smackingingly divine. (Yes, it's prompted me to make up a variation of the word, "gobsmacked.") I especially savored the bites where I got a bit of the juicy tomato** ~ it really made the flavors sing.
The Pollo Cubano was excellent as were the Papas Rellena. (I think even if you aren't big on cilantro, you may like the sauce - cilantro taste is very mild.)
If I were rating on food quality alone ~ All of the dishes were easily 4 star quality - good portions, very tasty, excellent flavors & great variety from which to choose.
The service was between 3-4 after they figured out we were there.
The decor was a 2 when I walked in, but it grew on me ~ ok, a 3 star. I used to frequent the Phoenix location long ago when it had an upstairs and I loved that upstairs so maybe I'm too picky.
The price is between a two and three. The entrees seemed the most on the high side; appetizers and desserts a bit more in line.
Will we come here again? You betcha. I definitely recommend you at least try it once and review for yourself! I will have a MOJITO (as many other reviewers have raved over) & a "Brazo Gitano" for dessert!
** It just hit me that tomato isn't listed in ingredients and now that I'm reviewing the menu closer on-line, it does state in small print, "Not all the ingredients of each dish are listed; we ask that you inform your server of dietary restrictions before ordering.**
So, good thing I like tomatoes.
