  • Nadège Pâtisserie makes some of the best pastries in Toronto. Their sweet offerings include cakes, tarts, croissants, macarons, chocolate. Some of the savoury offerings are breakfast egg croissant, smoked salmon croissant. In addition to indoor seating, Nadège Patisserie has patio seating overlooking Bellwood Trinity Park. The croissants are a must eat at Nadège Patisserie. The golden brown pastries are simply delicious. Inside, the croissants have an airy, honey comb like pattern. The crunch from bites produces flaky crumbs. I have eaten these croissants: chocolate almond, raspberry pistacho, cherry currant, granola. The tarts are masterpieces and a work of art. They are a sight to behold. It is fitting that there is a tart named after Marie Antoinette, Queen of France. If the Marie Antoinette tart is the Queen of pastry tarts at Nadège Patisserie then the Jindai tart should be the King. My favourite tart, the Jindai, is a must eat for those who love matcha green tea. The strong flavouring is unlike anything else. I have eaten these tarts: Marie Antoinette, Jindai, Le Soleil D'Automne, Lemon Meringue, La Mancha, Pur Noir. As a comparison, I ate similar flavoured tarts at Butter Avenue on Queen St. W. The French macarons were not as good as the croissants and tarts. I purchased at least 18 pieces over multiple visits and tried at least 12 flavours. Issues I had were the macarons had insufficient flavouring in the filling and/or macaron shells, joined together with filling, that were not uniformly round. I have read other reviews that mention insufficient flavouring in the filling. Only the Salted Caramel macaron had good flavouring. Again as a comparison, I did eat some macarons from Butter Avenue on Queen St. W. I realize that it is not always possible to make batches of perfectly made baked goods every time, but when reviewers from time to time are mentioning the same issues then Nadège Patisserie should be taking a close look at what they can do better. Overall Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
