  • NEVER in my life have I had a worse experience with a dental office than I did with this one! I can't help, but shake my head over the UNprofessionalism of their office manager and hygienist. I urge anyone who is concerned about their overall health to read this review before deciding to use this dental office. Both my husband and I have been patients here for over a year. Everything was great until one cleaning I had. Usually I'm scheduled with a hygienist named Jason, but for some reason I got booked with another. As soon as I saw her I became worried. She wasn't very well kept. I'm not knocking her appearance, but only things that would and should concern anyone having dental work. Her hair was not done, her clothes wrinkled and rumpled. It looked as though she had pet hair on her black pants. During my cleaning I noticed she did not suction a lot and I had blood building up into my mouth. I found I was swallowing a lot of the blood. At one point she stuck my gums with a sharp instrument and drew more blood. I noticed all this, but didn't give it much thought until hours later that afternoon when I was suddenly hit with an extremely high fever, nausea, and fell very, very ill. Throughout the night my fever rose until it registered 104! I had chills, sweats, nausea, but when delirium overcame me my husband was getting ready to rush me to the ER. My fever broke overnight and the next day I called the dental office and reported what had happened. The attitude was nonchalant and I was told a fever after cleaning wasn't common and it must have been something else. I asked that it be notated in my record and I confirmed my next cleaning. So, when I arrived for the next cleaning 3 months later I saw I had the same disheveled hygienst. I mentioned to her how sick I was the last time and instead of reassuring me or making a suggestion of (I'm not a dentist) say gargling with an anti-bacterial beforehand or something, she became VERY defensive and accusatory towards me. Telling me it must have been something I did to make myself sick, because there was "no possible way" I could have gotten sick there. She suggested that I reschedule so she could "research" why I got sick. She even logged onto google and demanded I give her websites where she could read up that dental cleaning cause fever. I agreed that it would be best to reschedule due to her frantic behavior, but when I started to walk to the front desk she jumped in front of me and placed her hand on my chest and blocked my path! She then chased me to the front desk and while I was speaking with the (I'm assuming office manager) she kept interrupting. All was explained to the front desk and I was rescheduled, but then the office manager demanded to know my primary care doctor and said she was gong to need a medical release before my next cleaning!!!!! WHAT????? Today I called to confirm I was set for next weeks cleaning and I asked I not be placed with the last woman. That's when the office manager told me she had faxed my medical doctor and was waiting on a medical release before I could get my next cleaning!!! I'm am completely and totally blown away by this attitude! I have never in my life experienced such horrible treatment! I reported I became ill after my last cleaning and merely asked that precautions be taken; suction the blood and bacteria more often, let me gargle with a special mouthwash, etc.....Instead I had a finger pointed back at me and I was the one accused of causing myself to come down with a fever. I asked Cherie (the office manager) to cancel my appointment and to cancel all my husband's future appointments and we would be finding a dental office that acts in a reasonable and professional manner (plus one where the personnel are clean and follow proper grooming and hygiene). I thanked her and hung up. She then immediately called me back and started in about that I am misinformed and such. I thanked her again and said it didn't matter, because we were moving on. I hung up. She then calls back AGAIN! I picked up the phone and said "Cherie! Leave me alone! We are not going to your dental office anymore! Do NOT call me again!" In this day & age of super bugs and flu viruses that are killing people I mention to my dental office that I became sick and instead of taking precautions or easing my concerns they acted in a very over the top UNprofessional manner of denial, accusations, making the patient jump through hoops, and then harassment. It is my wholehearted belief that I became deathly ill after a procedure at Premier Dental. I don't know if it came from the hygienist rushing the cleaning & not suctioning the blood and bacteria, or her unskilled use of instruments and sticking me to draw blood, or if it was her general poor grooming and hygiene, but I will NEVER recommend anyone ever use this dental office. Google "fever" and "dental cleaning" and find hundreds of sites where people become VERY ill after a cleaning!
