New does not always mean better.
This review is of my service experience. I purchased Toyota care so I get "free" routine maintenance. Note: free is the word they used. I know I paid a couple grand for my perp aided maintenance.
1. The new service bay is really confusing. There is no one and no signs to tell you to leave your car unattended and go inside. If you wait out side the employees will just walk on by, even if you stand next to your vehicle in the middle of the service bay.
2. Another customer was nice enough to tell me that I would need to go inside if I wanted help. Inside, there is again to signage or queing system. So I get in line behind another customer and wait...I'm now about 15 minutes in and not acknowledged by anyone.
3. I get to the head of the "line". I had made an appointment, so I said my name and that I had an appt. for noon (I was still 15 min early). The annoyed agent says, "with who?" Ah...duh...Toyota ! How the hell do I know? I'm not on a first name basis with the guy who changes my oil! Had you met me at my truck, you could have scanned my VIN and known my credit score by now!
4. Ok so turns out you have to know who your service adviser is in order to get service. Of course mine was on a break, so this other guys says he'll help me. I tell him I have an appt. He says "ok, it'll be about two hours." Why the hell did I bother making an appt for an oil change if it is still gonna take two hours!
Lesson learned...prepaid maintenance is a rip off. Especially if your time is important. For what I got here, I could have had 7 oil changes at Jiffy lube ...maybe more...I'm still waiting...now 2.5 hours!
Update...finally got my car back after 3 hours! Saddest part is I love my Toyota and will keep it...but I'm gonna try to get my money back on the prepaid maintenance and just use Jiffy Lube.
