Amazing provincial park. We buy membership every year. Great trails, very nice camping area and the best disc golf course in the area. They have the biggest pool in the area and a great off leash dog park. There's even a radio controled aircraft airfield! Bbq areas and pavilions galore. Plenty of unique events through the year. If you love nature and serene settings, this place cannot be beat!
A black mark against them is how poorly they've handled the ice storm Dec 2013/Jan 2014. Many things including the skating rink were closed for nearly 5 weeks. Woefully understaffed, 1 week would have been acceptable, 5 weeks is an embarrassment considering how much they charge us yearly. In fact first week of February there's STILL restrictions from a 2 day storm in December!
They have now permenantly closed the best outdoor rink in the area. They have previously closed some nice tennis courts which now sit abandoned. This place is all about budget cuts and removing value while raising the price of entry.
The staff ranges from useless to very good. I love so much about this place but feel it is not run anywhere near as well as it could/should be. Still a beautiful nature refuge in the middle of such a populated area overcomes much of management and governments shortcomings.
This drops them from close to a 5 star operation to just under 3 IMHO.
