  • Too many hassles for a one-night stay. Chose this property solely for its proximity to the airport and its free shuttle service. Check in at 4 p.m.? Lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. Non-smoking room on the first floor even smelled like smoke since the walkway outside was littered with cigarette butts. Clerk tried to charge me again for a prepaid room via Hotwire. I had receipts to prove prepayment. I've booked hotels through Hotwire for years and have never had a problem. Ever. It's standard operating procedure for properties to swipe your credit card for incidentals. I have no problem with that. I do, however, with the $50 deposit. When you get it back, I was told, depended on how quickly my credit card company processes a reverse transaction. Get out. Returned our rental car to the airport. Called for a shuttle back to the hotel a little after 7 p.m. Husband was told we'd be picked up at 8:00. WTF? 8:00 came and went. I called. Clerk said the shuttle LEAVES at 8:00. WTF? An unmarked rental van (think soccer mom van) finally got there a smidgen before 8:30. Driver (who also doubled as the maintenance man) was apologetic and explained the screwed up system. The regular vehicle is unreliable and often in the shop. The shuttle service only leaves the property at the top of the hour and it doesn't not make regular hourly runs. It's dispatched when a guest calls -- and only at the top of the hour. WTF? Hello, flights do not land and take off only at the top of the hour? Huge inconvenience. When a guest calls for a pick up, the shuttle should be dispatched. The shuttle/mom van was ready to go at 6 the next morning but I still had to deal with billing hassles. The clerk who tried to double charge me the day before did. Not only did I have the $50 deposit, I was also charged (again) for the prepaid room. Luckily the person on duty was a supervisor and removed the charges. I asked for a receipt but couldn't get one because the amount owed field in my folio was blank. He showed it to me. I'm still skeptical. I will never stay here again. Hotwire, this is not a 3-star hotel.
