  • I've always gone to Vegas for the partying, eating, drinking, sunning but now, I'll have to add spa-ahhh-ing to my list. (is that even a word?) I'm not much of a spa goer, but Mandarin Oriental has converted me. Even possibly convinced me that I should set aside $$$ whenever I go to Vegas. (and you will need $$$ because a day pass for the spa is $80 and the cheapest treatment you can book is $100) The decor is reminiscent of luxurious Shanghai back in the 1930's: mixture of black, reds with pops of purple and green. Even the bathrobes are colored black with a red trim. The vitality pool (turn on the bubbles!) is a perfectly warm 75 degrees, the experience showers mimic thunderstorms and tropical rain all controlled with a tablet, the Eucalyptus steam room is awesome and relaxation rooms feature views of the strip. I booked a 45 min. Replenish foot massage which includes a Chinese spearmint foot bath, followed by exfoliation. Then my masseuse applied a foot mask of White Clay and Ylang Ylang, followed by a pressure point massage along your feet and legs. DIVINE. After the massage, she'll wrap you with a blanket and an eye mask and you take a cat nap for the rest of the time. When you wake up, hot tea is delivered to you. I recommend booking a late weekday afternoon to ensure the place to be almost empty and also, the prices for some of the treatments are cheaper. Plus you can stay until nighttime and watch the strip all aglow in its lights. You'll be ready to party for another 8 hours after a serene spaaahhh day at Mandarin Oriental, but after spending half a day here, I really don't want to leave.
