Traveling with adult daughter and granddaughter I booked the 777 sq.ft. suite. I give her and baby the bedroom for privacy and sleep on the pull-out sofa. The suite seemed small, not the 777 sq ft as advertised so I measured it, it was under 530 sq ft.. I thought I had been given the wrong room and asked at front desk for an explanation. I was told I was wrong, I was in the largest room, and the room was 777 sq ft she knew because..they had received other complaint and they had measured it. No! It was under 530 sq ft! (Flat plane/inside wall to outside wall both directions, multiply = sq ft...I measured it people!)
Sofa bed was not made for an adult (or anyone). Mattress was county jail quality. No linens on it and when they brought linens they neglected to include a mattress cover or duvet for the comforter. I would not recommend two couples sharing a suite here if you plan to put one on the sofa bed.
Three bath towels a day for a suite. I shouldn't have to call the front desk, in a suite, for additional towels.
Going Green at this hotel is a good excuse for them to Go Cheap. Linens were perhaps hemp (low thread count and scratchy). Toilet paper was like newspaper. Bath towels were cheap and only two little pegs in bathroom to hang wet towels should you want to reuse them. Oh...and let's not forget mid-April and the pool heater was off! Saw very, very few people using the pool as it was far to cold to enjoy. I saw an elder woman all ready for a dip and she decided it wasn't worth it. Sad.
Front Desk employees I had contact with (except for one) were non-responsive and demeaning. On site manager was the same. They didn't seem to know the words "I'm sorry" or "How can we make your stay better?"
I have heard great things about the Element in the past, my daughter has done many, many corporate stays here and she assured me that it is different than it used to be.
Starwood has some work to do here if they want to keep the respectability of their brand.
