| - I wanted so bad to like this place but the reality is that the finality of the experience was horrible.
It is a really nice place in a very unusual location. The interior is nice, old Vegas style and the booths in the main dining room are great. The only downside is that because it's in Vegas, and despite the "please dress classy" code, the date with my wife was marred from the start with the ripped tank top + shorts gentleman seated right across from us.
The food....the foie gras was spectacular - very tasty. The chopped salad was weak - the dressing had no flavor which made the iceberg+chick pea combo taste like water and sand. The NY Strip was, well, a strip and its hard to screw that up though a bit salty. The sides were fair. My wife ordered the Short Rib. It came cold. As in room temperature cold. The only thing was that the one they gave her had a lot of meat on it and when we sent it back, they replaced it with 1 that had almost no meat.
When we called the manager over, he apologized but then went on to say that it was a "naturally fatty cut" and that "5oz of meat was to be expected" but having been a cook, I can tell you that there was no 5oz on this piece.
The manager offered to switch it out but the problem with that scenario is that in the attempt to save revenue, they forgot that the meal was already ruined and waiting for another plate on an already upset timeblock was not going to fix anything. At that point, just offer a discount and end the evening. But even after 2 discussions with the manager, there was no such offer.
I am sure there were good plates but for the mediocrity of the food and more than that, the crappy service from the management (the waiter was fine), I just can't recommend it.
And a small note to management - learn to wear suits that are cut the right length. Otherwise it just looks silly.
