| - I really like this studio and have been coming here for a few months for prenatal yoga on Wed. night with Ann. During my first few visits (very early in my pregnancy), I was dubious of this style of yoga because it didn't seem nearly hardcore enough. You didn't hold plank pose for 2 hours, you didn't sweat like crazy--it just wasn't like the yoga classes I had typically gone to. Fastforward a few months later, and I can barely get through one class! The gentle stretching and strengthening poses are so necessary for out-of-whack pregnant bodies. In fact, I didn't go to class for a few weeks during my second trimester, and my back started killing me. After a few sessions of prenatal yoga, I felt I was back to my old self (well, almost!) Ann is a really great teacher and a recent mom herself, so she knows what you're going through. She also goes to great lengths to give many modifications to the poses so everyone in the class--in their different stages of pregnancy--is getting what they need.
So, if you are coming here for prenatal yoga, don't be put off by the gentleness of the classes. This type of stretching and movement is exactly what we pregnant ladies need, especially as we progress further along. I couldn't imagine going through my pregnancy without this class.
