I attempted to check in at 3pm. The front desk clerk greeted me and then left me waiting wishbone explanation for a few minutes. She returned with a manager (Kai) who informed me that the hotel had been oversold in the last few days and asked me to change hotels. seriously???? I booked this reservation several MONTHS ago and they wanted to displace me for clients who had booked in the last few days? He attempted to sell me on inferior accommodations which were in an inconvenient location. No loyalty for being a Marriott rewards customer here!!! I told him that this was completely unacceptable and he proceeded to 'find' me a room. Our visit to Toronto started on a bad note.... room smelled musty and did not appear clean. Worst Marriott experience ever.... will stay at the intercontinental next time we visit Toronto!
