Boyfriend saw the ice cream on instagram and urged us to go - yes he's the hypebeast, not me. We took the streetcar here and I surely had a stroke as it passed trinity bellwoods and saw a thousand people in line. As I reluctantly got into the queue, a child passed by and said "why are you waiting so long for purple ice cream" and I completely agreed. IT TOOK 30-40MIN. They're not understaffed but significantly slower than most ice cream shops, including eva's chimney cones where they actually need to BAKE the sugary goodness. The charcoal cones here were already ready and people were baking them in the back so I have no idea why the lineup was so long.
It was sweltering hot & the store is packed; a lot of people inside have already got their ice cream and are just taking pics for their instagram & that's mainly why it's so crowded. The ice cream is put onto your cone so perfectly, the girl does it like an art. It's gorgeous and stacked high. She took a lot of time with it too. The prices are good! 2 cones for $13, which is average or below average for downtown instagram-hype desserts but at the end of the day, we need to remember- it's soft serve and activated charcoal.
The ube nut didn't taste like ube, just sweet. They also have gelato/sorbet which look great as well. Seriously guys.. just add some kind of bizarre colour onto a popular dessert & you'll get a flock of basic bitches (like me) in your store.
TL;DR
Insta worthy? Hell yeah. Peep mine @azpremium ;)
Everything else? Meh, I'd go if there wasn't a line.
