| - I happen to stroll along minding my own beeswax then this Bakery Rack gets in my way. I sucked my GUT in as much as I've learned through my seldom Yoga Training and wiggled my way inside. On the left are a mix of Buns, Breads, Cookies, and Misc. Korean Rice Cake Sweets. To the right is a couple sitting space and Walnut Cakes($5.00). Directly in front of me is their Cake Display Fridge and the Korean Women with friendly greeting.
The second I told her I'm making decisions, she sneaked in a whole conversation which lead to some interesting Cultural Diversity. As I saw trays of 50 cm Rice Cake Tubes, a few packaged smaller-radius Rice Cake Tubes and other trays of Sliced Rice Cakes, she obviously discovered my disguise as a Korean Men was a fake.
We spoke of Korean vs Chinese New Year, RICE CAKE vs Dumplings, Rice Cake Dessert vs Cantonese Sweet Soups. If not for more Patrons disturbing our conversation, we'll be exchanging...........NO, of course not exchanging phone numbers since she's my Mom's age. Exchanging more Food and Culture info as if she is the Ambassador for Korea.
As for the Walnut Cake it doesn't have as much a fulfilling bite as those other rounder Walnut-shaped Cakes. That negativity though doesn't affect the fact that they prepare other various Korean Sweet Treats in-house while she proudly holds up 2 large mixed Korean Sweets Platter that a customer pre-ordered. I purchased a package of Rice Cake(Red Bean, Black Bean, Green tea, Pumpkin, Sesame Seed $2.50) and head back to the evening stroll into the cool night air....
