Another great (hairless caramel) experience at Bourbon Steak. The fries still rock, and I was happy to see an Iron Horse sparkler on the wine list by the glass.
I avoided the ahi tuna tartare because it's endangered yo and I'm trying to be responsible (though it smelled really good). I split the olive oil poached halibut and a 10 oz steak with the lovely dining companion to my right. They cut the portions in half and plated them beautifully for us. The halibut wasn't as mind blowing as the dish I had at Dovetail in NY, but it was good. The steak was lovely, and the sides, again, stole the show. Truffled mac n cheese, potato cakes with cheese and bacon, broccolini and mushrooms. Nom.
I made everyone split the beignets with me (with all three dipping sauces) and they were excellent.
Again, I'm glad I wasn't paying, but it was a solid meal with great service.
