| - ugh, this place. we came through here twice. once on the way to Athens, and then on our return. both times only an hour layover, so it had to be a quick transfer. for starters, the flight attendants had no idea what the Montreal airport was like. it didn't matter that they'd flown into and passed through the airport several dozen times, they still didn't know anything about it (which should be in a review of Air Canada-which is so ghetto).
Anyway, with everyone rushing off the plane to make the connection, there are no clear directions as to where to go. Finally someone way down the terminal is pointing to a stairwell going down 2 flights and shouting "International transfers down this way" so everyone goes bolting down the stairs, only to be told once down there, "No you have to go back up and keep going straight". Everyone rushes back up, a few of us confront the lady, and her reply is extremely defensive, "well, i'm just doing what i was told" kind of thing...
anyway, it was almost exactly like that on the return trip, except going from Canada to the US is so tedious with so many different lines and different people to be scanned by, etc. The metal detectors were broken, and one employee's radar scan gun wasn't scanning tickets correctly, so it was just a bunch of people being very anxious to catch their connecting flight, after 10 hours in a janky Air Canada plane. and still, not a single validation or apology for the complete inefficiency and rudeness of the airport staff.
avoid passing through Montreal airport if you can. and Air Canada too...
