| - Roy Thomson Hall is an absolutely stunning venue, the acoustics are phenomenal and the sound is beautiful. I had not been in years before deciding to go and take in Handel's Messiah, performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mandelsohn Singers. Absolutely amazing.
There's free wifi inside, though you're not supposed to bring in cameras, that doesn't seem to be enforced or followed though.
Do read on their website about symphony etiquette before going - don't be the people who clap at the wrong time, and don't try to open candy in the hall (why do people do that?!). Also, don't wear loud clothes our jewelry and turn off your phone! For some reason this is too much to ask it seems.
Pro tip: if you don't have a lot to spend, there are discounted tickets for people under 35 for some shows, and check out the seats in the choir loft, in the first row. For Handel's Messiah, they were sold as "obstructed view" seats for only $20! The view was still neat, and the sound is incredible regardless of where you sit in the hall.
