| - This place was soooo good last night, we will go back for lunch today! Talk about impressive. The decor was retro-rat-pack vibe without the smokey room (gorgeous!), and the food, service and entertainment was top notch. The architecture outside an inside is very well planned and appointed. They didn't try to cram in a ton of tables to make every blood red cent possible. Nice-looking glass garage door style patio doors that they can open in nice weather. We will be back for that!
Happened to get there at about 7 pm on Fri night and was delighted that happy hour is from 6-8 pm. We got to pick any table we wanted and the two of us snugged up in a gigantic round hipster booth. Margaritas for $4 during happy hour were on point. I had Cubana sandwich with onion rings, both incredibly yummy. My man had 'make your own burger' with crispy fries, which he really liked very much. There were so many really good sounding items on the menu, I just need to go back, pronto! I wanted to get the curry with chicken or shrimp but the Cubano sandwich called out to me a bit louder. Our waiter mentioned that the owners are East Indian, so I'm betting that curry is really ordered a lot, as the waiter said. There was also another Indian dish or two on the menu as well as some fantastic sounding steak dishes.
Back to my cubano sandwich. It was the best I'd ever eaten. The meat was real roast beef with ham, and not just lunch meat style. The flavors were perfect, with a kick but not too intense. Yum!
Our waiter was attentive but not looming, and they had three live bands there, all with their originally written tunes. It was fun! One of the singers sang a song I just can't get out of my head. It was adorable and fun, and goes like this, "I'm a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, girl. I'm a bad, bad, bad, bad, girl! Chorus: Spanky, spanky, spanky, spanky, spanky spank. Spank my derrière! I'm a bad, bad, bad, bad girl. ... I'm so bad, I'm goooooood."
I gotta finish this review so we can get ready and drive on over there for lunch!! See you there!
