  • Well what can I say about this place not much other than we only saw the front door. This was my guys first choice to come to for his birthday to come out and have drinks together. Its his favorite place to come to on his days off he comes twice a week to sit at one of the tables by the front entrance where you can sit in the sun on nice days and people watch he has 2 beers then walks home. I have been before at night and had an ok time drinks are normal and prices were decent. I wasn't surprised when my guy mentioned SIP as his first stop for drinks however that plan was promptly dismantled when we got out of the uber at the front entrance and walked up to the bouncer. He asked for our IDs I showed mine while my guy got his out of his wallet when suddenly the bouncer said he couldn't come in and mumbled something that I thought was about his shirt. I thought to myself since when does this place have a dresscode and what's wrong with his shirt? I asked about it and the bouncer corrected me that he actually said that he couldn't come in because he had already been drinking.... excuse me? I didn't realize you had been with us earlier. I explained to him that we had just come out this was our first stop for his bday and that he had only had a partial beer before this that he couldn't even finish because the uber arrived to pick us up. The bouncer snapped at me well where did we come from?! I said our house if you must know! I asked what signs he saw that made him come to this conclussion? My guy hadnt spoken yet so its not a slurred speech, he walked up the sidewalk from the uber with no trouble so hes not stumbling, hes standing right in front of you showing you his ID, He then once more stated that we could not enter so enter we did not nor will we ever again. I was furious and thought about asking for a manager but the look on my guys face from being wrongfully denied entry to his first choice for his bday outing was enough to let me know I should leave it alone. I mean was it the way we looked? sounded? dressed? Ill never know because it definitely wasn't that he had been drinking because that was our first stop for drinks! I have really never experienced anything like this before also what type of signs is this bouncer looking for when it comes to people being intoxicated? I have been a server and a bartender for a really long time I'm not anymore but I completely understand that its important to not serve anyone that has already been drinking to much for safety and liability reasons. But this was something else, we simply got out of the uber walked up to the front and showed ID's and were denied entry for reasons ill never understand. We went to Black Finn and Bubble after this terrible start to our night and ended up having an absolutely amazing time, those places I would absolutely recommend but unless you like your entry to places to be determined by how you look I would avoid SIP.
