  • This is the latest spot from the Boxcar Social, and it just opened last week. In keeping with their other outposts it is a coffee in the morning, whiskey/beer in the evening type place. I've been twice now, once for a late evening whiskey and once for a lunchtime weekday coffee. The space is in a quieter section of Temperance St (west off Bay) that had oft been blocked off on account of construction. It has more of a bar vibe with stools and chairs on the wall, at the bar and around columns; and thus plenty of standing space. They have an impressive whiskey collection that is displayed on one of the walls, a decent craft beer selection and some wine and cocktails. Both the latte and whiskey I tried were excellent. Kudos to the staff as well - all very welcoming, friendly and keen to discuss the menu. I see this place going off on Wednesday - Friday nights with the Bay Street crowd. There are no opening hours mentioned on the website yet but according to staff they are open at 6am during the week and close at 2am (even on Saturdays).
