| - Sadly, I have to rate this Great Clips quite low.
I would have rated them a 1 star, but the manager did issue a refund for my daughter's hair cut and apologized for the situation.
While I was shopping at Michaels, my kiddo went with her dad to get a hair cut. I have been so swamped, I did not have time to take her to my salon. Her dad was given specific instructions on how to get her hair cut and to make sure her bangs were not cut and he relayed those instructions to the stylist.
I received a phone call from him telling me the stylist did not know what he meant by "face framing layers." I advised him that he needed to get a different stylist if she did not know what that meant.
He agreed and then hung up.
Apparently he argued with her for awhile wherein she said she didn't think it would look good on my daughter. He told her he still wanted it that way, but if she could not do it, then she could wait. He said to her that since my daughter was preoccupied on the iPad anyway... that she could just sit in a chair and wait for him while his hair was cut.
Well, apparently the stylist went ahead and cut my kiddo's hair anyway, including cutting her bangs straight across her forehead. Well, not completely straight, as some hairs were cut very unevenly. We have been growing out her bangs and training them for several months. Additionally, she cut some layers so short in my daughter's hair that they are above her eyebrows.
Her dad went back in to talk to the stylist. The stylist made a few more snips to correct the unevenness in her bangs. However, they should have never been cut in the first place.
I knew instinctively that I should not have allowed my kid to get her hair cut here, but this was the second time she'd been. The first time was to correct it after she cut off a hunk of hair herself when she was in school. The stylist did a good job then.
Should my kid have been in that chair when her dad told the stylist to forget about it? No.
A place like this has so much turn over that every stylist could have an effect on the reviews. I understand that. However, it was such a bad experience, we are not willing to chance it again.
It is right before the holidays... and I really think my kid's hair looks like a monkey cut it.
Oh well. Hair grows back.
You get what you pay for so... buyer beware.
