I'm always weary of giving a car dealership a five-star rating because dealerships are notoriously scummy. I was also very weary of this dealership when I moved to Madison and I was looking for a place to service my Corolla.
I've been taking my car here now for about a year and I'm actually pretty impressed. I - so far - have not been up-sold on pointless maintenance. The first time I came here, I told them that my dealership in Milwaukee told me I needed a transmission fluid flush and they explained to me that this service is not recommended in the service manual. Sure enough - it says right in the service guid and it's even printed on the transmission dipstick "Transmission Fluid does not need to be changed under normal driving conditions."
I also got my rear brake drums replaced. I asked them to check the condition of my brake fluid and to tell me their honest opinion whether or not it needed to be changed or not. I even pre-authorized a brake-fluid flush and was pretty much expecting them to take my money and run. Yet, surprisingly they came back and told me it wasn't necessary. They could have had my money but they were honest with me. That kind of honesty is what earns my business.
Their facility is also pretty nice and well kept-up and the waiting room is pretty cushy and nice. There's always Property Brothers playing on the TV - which is like my favorite show - and there all sorts of goodies to munch on. It's certainly pricey but it's worthwhile so far as I can tell.
My only complaint is the shuttle. It can take you places but it can't pick you up. Kind of odd if you ask me and a bit inconvenient.
Five stars for now. I'll continue to update it and I will continue to proceed with caution because every other car dealership I've taken my car to has screwed me one way or another. Good job earning my business so far Smart Toyota. But be warned - I'm skeptical.
