  • Nope nope nope nope! Turn back around and take your business else where. Gave them my copies of X-rays from the urgent care and they put me in a room. About 10 minutes later this PA woman named Denise (probably Dennis) came in tested a few movements on my legs, asked about pain, told her what happened, and immediately told me to go get an MRI within 3 minutes. Did not look at X-rays in front of me or even show/ explain them to me... Not to mention the attitude/personality I was approached with- condescending, bossy, no eye contact, and very impersonal. I'm here to get help from you and obviously pay you for the help, I don't need this type of treatment approach. Sent me on my way with a script for pain and that was it. I finally got scheduled favor an MRI in the first couple days in December and was called by 4th that they had received my MRI results so I asked for them over the phone and they said no- only via appt. so I said fine...the next available date??? 12/16! So i go in on 12/16 and was read my results by Dr Brainard- he was the only professional, polite, and knowledgeable person in that place. He looked at the MRI with me and explained that I had a 20% compression fracture in my T-11, explained it well to me,gave me info on it, explored my options, asked me about my life/ daily living skills/ job and how it affects my back. He told me about physical therapy and also informed me of a glue injection to fill the vertebra that I am a candidate for which will fix the fracture and alleviate the pain, however I have about 3 months (from time of fracture which was 11/7) to get it done because otherwise once the bones heals, the glue will not work properly. He was great in answering any questions, gave me a script for pain, and a list for physical therapy to attend while I decide on this glue injection and that this Denise ( PA) will follow up with me in a few days regarding the injection and if I want to do it... Well December 23rd rolls around and I have not received a call. I call on 12/24 and told them that I've been waiting for her call ( like I was told) and requested a call from her. Jan 5 rolls around and still No call. I'm livid at this point due to the pain I'm experiencing and the time sensitive glue injection, so I call ready to file a grievance. I call and this Denise lady tells me that no one told her I requested a phone call and that her, the head dr, and dr Brainard all discussed my case and I am NOT a candidate for the injection, lastly, that dr Brainard was supposed to call me and tell me this... I lost it. Called her out on the contradiction of him telling me I'd benefit from the injection due to my age and how active I am. So now the glue injection I was really looking forward to, That I was told I would benefit from, would do great on especially since I'm young, and would rid the pain, i am now NOT a candidate for... All this time I spent looking forward to is no longer and no one had the decency to call me and tell me. Now I have less than a month to try and get in somewhere else for a second opinion and hopefully get the injection I was told would be great for me. Forget this place, their condescending Physicians Assistant ( who had the condescending impersonal attitude for not even being an MD), their stupid secretary clerks who can't deliver a message for a phone call request, their lack of communication to patients with spine issues (neglectful is more fitting), and crappy to tell someone they're a candidate for something that sounds so promising in fixing and then tell them they're no longer a candidate after waiting 3 weeks for a phone call. Spine care is serious and these people don't tAke it serious. Spend your money wisely on your healthcare and take your business to professionals- go elsewhere!
