  • I plan NOT to rent at SkySong Apartments in the future based on my past experiences living there. READ ALL COMMENTS BELOW! The following comments are based on my experience living at SkySong Apartments from March 2014 thru April, 2015: -Signing a new lease was simple and efficient. I was living out of state and was unable to visit the property in person. -Management and staff are professional and friendly. -Maintenance repairs to my apartment unit were performed in a timely and professional manner. -The tenants living at SkySong Apartments were very friendly! -On many occasions the gates to the parking garage were broken and or not working. -My vehicle was damaged when entering the SkySong Apartments parking garage. BY NO FAULT OF MY OWN, the arm controlling the lift gate collapsed on to the hood of my vehicle and then fell to the parking garage floor. I immediately contacted the office. The maintenance manager which came out to inspect the damage to my vehicle and the parking gate became very defensive when I stated that the parking gates have been broken on many occasions. Management and staff displayed a lack of care or concern that my vehicle was damaged. In addition, the new manager failed to respond in a timely manner regarding reimbursement for the damage to my vehicle. After contacting the Corporate Office, the manager then offered to give me a $100 gift certificate and a free car detail which I immediately declined (Body shop estimate was $410.76 to repair vehicle). -Hallways and elevators have NO A/C. During the summer months, the hallways on the 4th floor and elevators become extremely hot which was a safety hazard for my senior pet. I was unable to use the elevators during the summer months when taking my dog out for his walk and had to carry him up and down four flights of stairs. -The floors in the hallway near my unit display stains and are not cleaned on a regular basis. -On occasion, trash is left in the hallways for long periods of time as a result of the valet trash service. -The floor in the trash room near my unit was unfinished, not sanitary, had numerous trash stains including pigeon droppings (the valet trash charge is mandatory even if you don't use it). -Some of the parking garage spaces are shared with the commercial buildings located at the SkySong complex. Just prior to moving out, management installed many speed bumps in the garage which made it very time consuming and uncomfortable to get to my reserved spot on the 4th floor. As a result, It was safer (my vehicle was previously damaged by the garage gate arm) and more convenient to park my car on the street if space was available. An email announcement dated 1.12.15 from SkySong Apartments states "there have been a few close calls with regards to cars colliding because someone was driving in the wrong direction." -Ripped open sand bags laid on the garage floor for numerous months by the doorway closest to my unit. There was sand all over the floor which was an obvious safety hazard and an eye soar. I contacted management on numerous occasions and the issue was never corrected in a timely manner. -SkySong Apartments increased my rent nearly 25% ($250) to sign a month-to-month rental agreement. The Renewal offer for 12 or 13 months was nearly 25% less than the month-to-month rate. -Refundable Security Deposit was not received in a timely manner! It took over 30+ days to receive my refundable deposit from SkySong Apartments (rental contract states security deposit refund will be mailed no later than 14 days after termination of tenancy).
