| - We have been to visit this store a couple of times. The first time they were still in their temporary space, and the second in their expanded showroom. We found ourselves unexpectedly pregnant at the end of 2012. I wanted to wait to buy furniture until I was comfortable enough in this pregnancy. (Just a little background....I have had 6 miscarriages, then had 3 years of unexplained infertility, so I wasn't even sure how far along I would get in this pregnancy.) Therefore, I was around 23 weeks when I finally felt comfortable enough to buy a nursery set. So, here is the problem with Babystop. They have nothing in stock. Most of their furniture comes from out of the states, travels across the United States from the east coast, and finally arrives in Arizona. They told me worst case scenario that the set we wanted was 16 weeks out! What!?! That is 4 months, almost 1/2 of a pregnancy!!! That would put me at week 39! Who wants to be setting up their nursery a week before they are due, that is if the baby doesn't come early?
We decided their furniture was not an option for us, which was unfortunate because we really liked their top of the line Romina furniture. (I read in another review that the customer's Romina furniture did end up being later than promised.) And, we would have purchased on the spot, if they had it in stock or even if it would have taken less than 4 months to arrive (they told us that was worst case scenario, 12-16 weeks was the normal, but our luck would be the 16 weeks).
That wasn't the worst part, as we were leaving, the saleslady tried one last ditch effort to persuade us to purchase the Romina. She ran over and started opening and shutting the Romina dresser drawers, almost as if she were mocking us. Romina has a self closing drawer feature, which we loved and the fact that it seems to be very high quality furniture. Well, this did nothing but make my husband angry, and that rarely happens. I think I have seen my husband truly angry 3 times in our 10 years of marriage. He is normally very even keel; I'm the one with the temper. So, needless to say, we will not be going back to Babystop for anything at this point. The saleslady made my husband so very angry that he doesn't ever want to go back. Yes, we finally found a nursery set, and it's all set up waiting for our special delivery. We didn't have to wait 16 weeks! My advice to Babystop, if you are going to sell a product that takes 16 weeks to arrive, I would get some stock in my warehouse. You would sell a lot more furniture that way!
