| - When I read "Manila's Best", I was hoping they were comparable to Serenitea. Unfortunately that was not so. I visited last week with two other people and the sign read that they were closed and would return at 11:00? Confused, we decided we would visit another time.
I came in today with someone else to try out this bubble tea/boba shop next door to the new Korea Mart. I ordered a large black milk tea with boba over ice, while the person with me ordered a medium raspberry blended drink. The cashier informed the person that was with me that they did not have raspberry, so they had it changed to strawberry. The total came out to $11.24, my large black milk tea with boba was $5.15, while the person with me's medium strawberry drink with strawberry popping boba was $5.25. Sales Tax was $0.84. Very steep pricing for a bubble tea/boba shop.
After paying and sitting down, the cashier informed me that they did not have black milk tea. I was taken aback by this because, black milk tea is the steak and potatoes of almost all bubble tea/boba shops. Other shops would at least take the time to make it from scratch. To add to it, I was told this after paying. As a replacement, I ordered the cookies and cream blended drink. I watched how they made the drinks. It consisted of non-dairy creamer, ice, and a syrup of some sort. A cookies and cream milk shake from any fast food chain tasted better than what I ordered. Because they are fairly new, I may or may not give them the benefit of the doubt and visit again.
