  • This review pains me because I've been going to them for almost 5 years without major complaints, until now. Elena, the hygienist, freaked out on me and stopped working mid-way. I ended my cleaning appointment with an incomplete work! I was stunned and at a loss of words. Her behaviour was unprofessional, and the only thing she accomplished was to deepen my sense of stigmatization and increase my trauma and fear of going to the dentist. I used to go to Dr. Wong in Vancouver and he was amazing. When he brought in a new dentist, she was even better, hard to believe! Their bedside manner and calm demeanor helped soothe the fear I have. She would talk to me throughout the entire cleaning and I was distracted enough by her stories to forget the scraping. Plus, they have a tv in each room. Back to Queen St Dental Care. No tvs. I am placed in a sterile, beige room where there is no caltron (the electronic device)! I need to have both the caltron and manual tool to get the dental cleaning job done! The way Elena works makes it very slow and painful. I panicked from the constant scraping in my teeth because it was prolonged. They have no understanding of what a nervous patient is, and thanks to her unprofessional attitude, my fear, which has increased since going to the, is now cemented. She turned around and put the blame on me- making me feel like I did something wrong (by panicking) - by stating how much she was shaking, without acknowledging that I was afraid. My first dentist was a younger lady who was very frigid, with little bedside manner. She left to become a body builder (or was it aerobics competitor?). First big red flag that the people working there do not have the vocation. I am very disappointed and am only returning to get the dental cleaning completed. After this, good-bye to you because there are better dentists. I know, they may be in Vancouver, but there's got to be someone of his same calibre here in Toronto.
